Picture Catch Up

I am a little behind on posting pics, so let me catch up...

Grant loves to look around. He loves to look at lights, balloons, and his mobile. When he is in the right mood, I can set him in his crib and he will stare up in amazement. The darn thing does not even move, he just likes the pictures!

Here is Collin's last soccer game of the season. It was a chilly, but clear day. We love to watch him play. He is so fast! You can see that Collin and Kyle are most definitely related- the crazy hair gene.

Our sweetie niece, Amanda. She is such ham. We spent most of the game making imaginary drawings in the air with a plastic hand. Oh, it is great to be 6!

Grant and Dad love to do things together. The other day he spent hours in his Bjorn. They went for a walk and worked on projects in the yard (you know, man stuff).

Thanksgiving and my 30th

On turkey day/ my 30th b-day we went to my sis's in Maple Valley. Chad and Marcie knocked our socks off with a fabulous dinner. It was fun to spend the day with Chads family and just hang out. Mom made my favorite dessert, french silk pie, Delicious! Some of my favorite gifts for my birthday were a new watch (it was definitely time for this events person to get one) and a Gene Juarez gift card for a massage. I am excited to be 30. It is always easier when your hubby is two years older. :)
On the way to her house, there were surprise signs along the road- "Rachel Jo" and then "the big 3-0." She marked me a parking space in here driveway withe chalk that said "reserved for old people" and then she put this on the front step "Old people watch your step"...

I have decided that Gabby deserves some blog time. She has been great with the baby. She smells his head and likes to snuggle on your lap when you are holding the baby. She also likes to sleep in his room on the rocker. Her favorite things in the world are tissue paper and ribbon. You will see in the photos below she got both of these things- thanks to Kyle's b-day on the 23rd.

Grant is 9lbs plus

Grant had his 1 month check up this week. He has gained 3 lbs since he was born is starting to put on the chunk. Kyle and I thought he would be somewhere in the 8lb range, but he was a whopping 9lbs, 12oz.

To enjoy the sunny day we had yesterday we decided to take Grant to the beach at Mukilteo. He slept through the entire thing! Kyle was happy because he got to fill up his growler with beer at Diamond Knot Brewery.

Here is the cute french onesie Natalie got for Grant (notice the leg rolls). So cute- oui, oui!

Halloween 2009

We had a great time at Chad and Marcie's on Halloween. My family loves dressing up and handing out candy since we never had the chance in the house we grew up in (too long of a driveway). My Dad dressed as a spider's victim and scared kids on the front porch. The trick-o-treaters were too cute. My favorite costume was a 3 year old in a UPS costume. He collected candy in a little cardboard box!

Chad constructed an elaborate scene in the front yard. A vampire excavation gone horribly wrong. Eeeks!

Oh, and of we cannot forget Finnegan. The scariest dogzilla that ever was!

3 Weeks Old

Today is Kyle's first day back to work and Grant is offically 3 weeks old. Time sure flies when you are sleeping in and changing diapers left and right. I hope time slows down a bit so I can enjoy this time home with my guy.

We visited Kyle's parents yesterday and Esther is looking great after her most recent (and hopefully final) surgery. Grant showed off for his grandparents and rolled over from his tummy to his back- 3 times. My mother saw him do this a few days ago but it just did not register that he could actually roll over. I mean he is just three weeks old, which is very early for this kind of thing. This is the first sign that he has Kyle's athletic genes!


This picture below is of Grant in a 1 year old onesie. I am going to take his picture in this every month to watch how fast he grows.

The First Few Days....

The first few days at home have been wonderful and much better than we expected. We are adjusting quite well despite the new schedule. At night we sleep two hours, feed and then slap on a new diaper, sleep 2 hours...... We actually do not feel too tired. I think we are just so excited to have our little guy. He really squeals for food and when he gets changed. "Oh, that air is so chilly" he says!

Today, Grandma and Grandpa W came by for a visit and brought Great Grandpa Woods. Here is a photo of the 4 generations of Woods' boys (Bill, Ken, Kyle, and Grant).
Here we are getting ready for our first walk. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous this week and we thought it would be nice to get some fresh air and try out the stroller before the rain comes. He loved his first ride and he slept through it all despite the bumpy sidewalks, wind, and a bit of Dad's crazy driving.
Saturday was Grant's first Husky Football Saturday. Grandma and Grandpa H watched the game with us at home and we had the fist apple crisp of the season (delicious!). Aunt Marcie brought the newest Husky fan a cute little hat. Thanks to the lucky hat, we managed to scrape by and win the game.
