Grant's 5 Month Photos

Grant is 5 months old (a few weeks ago). Mom is a little late getting these one up.

He is into grabbing now; faces, hair, spoons- whatever is in reach. He especially loves his kitty. Whenever she is in sight he gets a look of utter delight. He likes to "pet" her but it is really is getting a fist full of hair.

He is getting closer to crawling. He lays on his tummy and pushes his put in the air and tries with all his might to get somewhere....but he is going nowhere yet.

Catching drool.....

Yay for Mussells!

My mom and dad have been going to the Penn Cove Mussellfest for years and invited Kyle and I this year. I really needed to get away especially since the all-consuming Harborview Gala is over (happy dance). It was a gorgeous day. Coopeville was so picturesque with little shops and a breathtaking view of the water. We loved it.

Here we are changing diapers in the trunk.. It would have been easier if we weren't parked on a hill.

Grantie and grandma jo jo.

The Fam.

Here is the star of the day.....mussells. The ones below were the most delicious. We gorged ourselves and even snuck some wine in dixie cups.

Grantie and grandpa.

We sneaked a peak at some daffodils in bloom in the Skagit Valley. Gorgeous! Also, the neat rows are so oddly satisfying to me- must be those type A genes.

Ahhhh, the best part of a busy day- a super tired baby. Besides the sweet, peaceful face and little snores, my favorite part is that an exhausted baby = more sleep for mom and dad.

Lions and tigers and BEARS

We like to call Grant "Bear." It all started when he had a little brown bear coat with ears that he wore as a little guy. He also has a fuzzy bear hat. We think it would be funny if the nickname stuck-bear woods- very manly and outdoorzy!

Yum Yum

Our doctor also said we can try feeding Grant. She said there are old-wives tales about what to feed them and that we could feed him whatever we liked. We tried sweet potatoes, but he thought those were super icky.

For the last week we have been giving him rice cereal once a day. We give him half a bottle, his cereal then the rest of the bottle. He does a great job eating off a spoon and swallowing, but he does not really like it and cannot wait to get his bottle back.

Gabbby puts on a bib to cheer Grant on.

Grant is 4 months old!

4 months- a big boy!

He weighs 16lbs 9oz- exactly 10lbs more than his birth weight. He gained 3lbs over the last two months. Our little chunky monkey!

The doc gave the go ahead for him to miss his 1am feeding and let him cry it out. We were so proud of him because he only cried the first night. and then like magic we were on a new schedule. He is such a good baby.

He is a super sweet guy. He loves to sing songs, play rough, and laugh at funny faces. He likes to play with blankies, grab toys, and see how things taste. Here he is with his cousin. He thinks she is hilarious.

Here we are at the awesome pet store near our house. It is perfect for Grant-it is indoors, warm, and only requires a short attention span. These are the cutest baby kitties. They kind of remind me of my old kitty, Ginger. Oh, wittle kitties.

One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. The fish tanks were mesmerizing.

Lordy, lordy, John is 40!

John and Shane turned 40 and got a super cool suprise party. My sister-in-law did a great job decorating and party planning. Check out this baby face... The DJ's van...very scooby doo.
Kyle's party contribution was a gigantic 40. It took 4-ever to drill those holes and push in the lights.

Here is John just as we walked in the door. He was most suprised his kids were there because he had just dropped them off at Grandma and Grandpas in LaConner.

Our party girl, Amanda.
