Camping on Whidbey Island

Last weekend was Grant's first camping trip. We went to Fort Ebey on Whidbey Island with Marcie and Chad for four days. It was a beautiful place-tall trees, beach, breathtaking views, easy hikes and only minutes from Coopeville (yay for mussells).

It took twice as long to set up camp as it did in the pre-baby days. Grant loved camping and thought the tent was especially fun.

We spent the hot day on the beach drinking wine and eating cheese- paradise! Hmmm, cracker or seaweed?
A momentous occasion, Grant's first Cheeto.

The Fourth of July

The 4th of July was a nice, long weekend. We changed up our plans this year and kept close of home instead of having the family shin-dig on Camano. My fabulous friend, Sandra (friends since 1st grade) invited us over to her house. We had a great dinner froze our buns off. I mean we went inside, cranked up the fireplace and nearly passed out from the heat. Her house is great for fireworks. Not only can you see Tulalip, but there are fireworks all around.

Grant had a rough time going to sleep. He wanted to party (no surprise). Here are just a couple pics starting with the patriotic wreath I made for our front door (yes, I am just itching to get back to my crafty self). It is strips of fabric tied to a wreath form. It took like one, long dedicated afternoon, but I love how it turned out.

A boy in a laundry basket

We are a little behind on picture posting. We just got back from a FABULOUS camping trip this weekend (pictures coming soon), but I could not let this great pics get passed up.

Here is Marcie, Chad, and Finnegan (and a little guy in a gray suit that I used to love as a kid, but turned out to be very sketchy). Oh, and a happy little boy in a laundry basket. What you cannot see is our tired backs after pushing him around and around.

And the grand finale!
